LOS rules

Looked all over the manual but couldn't find an answer.

It seems that at times units in a hex block LOS. But not always. Anyone know under what conditions LOS is blocked by units?

I'll tell you all I know about it, it's not much and it's kind of obvious. If there's a unit (or units) between the firing unit and the target and if that unit is at a lower elevation, then it doesn't block LOS.
