Battle points standards
I haven't played for a long time, so I need some help in starting a PBEM game.
I want to have a meduim battle in the time of June 44.
what is the amount of points suitable for such a battle?
If anyone can post a list of approximate dates(years) and points amount, that would be appreciated too.
cheers,

RE: Battle points standards
The points are up to what players like. For example I like small battles so for me good points for a 6/44 H2H battle could be anything from 1000 pts to 10000 pts but prefer something around 2000-4000 range. I know players who doesn't like battles of that era with less than 6000 pts. Also a type of battle does affect the points, like a raid could be even under 1000 pts.
Perhaps a medium could be 2000 pts for 39 plus 500 pts per year after that? Create a formula of your own once you figure out the size of battle you like to play.

RE: Battle points standards
Hi Rommel,
I actually think you are asking the wrong question.
The real issue is: what sort of force do you like to field?
This game was designed for battalion level forces, and this size IMO is the most fun. Not so large that you can't keep track of all the units and officers (and takes ages to play a turn), and not so small that there's no room for strategy and where one serious tank loss cripples you.
Personally, I usually like a five company battalion.
3 Infantry companies
1 Tank company
1 Support company (artillery, transport, scouts, armoured cars etc.)
I may add a MG platoon or some extra tanks or whatever I think will help reach the objectives. I think this usually costs me about 2500 points.
Just don't make the mistake of affording yourself tons of excessive luxury items. This will just weaken your battalion. Form the battalion with minimal support to get the job done.
Once you've decided on the makeup of your battalion, then see how much it's going to cost.
Hope this helps
