Map Editor

.jpg   MapEditor.jpg (Size: 79.39 KB / Downloads: 9) Crossroads mentioned in another post that his Map Editor didn't work correctly. I have a problem with mine also. Where the numbers should be on the Editor say the size of the map, they are blurred out in a shade of green. I have had this problem since I purchased JTCS and I do not know if I had XP or Vista at the time, but it never worked. I had no problem with the TalonSoft version. I can still edit and make new maps but but can only guess at the size of the numbers I am using. I am wondering if it is a flaw in the disk its self . Anyone else have this issue? Crossroads is this the problem you are having? I attached a screen shot.

Nope... The problem I've seen and IIRC also at least Huib has confirmed is that it is not possible to view maps using the Map Editor.

The map opens up correctly, but once you scroll the screen it becomes distorted.

Interestingly enough, the Scenario Editor does not have this issue with the same map. And of course, the very same maps work in the game itself.

That is pretty much the only issue I've had with 64bit Win7.

The "pretty much" referring to those strange things with bte/zip files I have not been able to pinpoint accurately.

Joe

I'm running VISTA Home Premium and see the same issue with the first screen in the map editor. Its across all three games of JTCS too!

I'm not sure whether its a program, computer setup or graphics card problem?? I put a post up about it on the Matrix site a few months ago but others seemed to be as perplexed as I was.

I've worked through it by just using the slides and ignoring the numbers fields. It seems to work OK, however you have to guess as to map size as these fields are garbled.

I do agree there should be a fix for this somewhere or in the next update provided its a program issue. But I'm not even sure if it is a program issue at this point.

Thanks
