RTFM?: :P (no brick throwing please, at least not to face...)
Anti-Aircraft Attacks – Any unit capable of Anti-Aircraft fire and that possesses sufficient Action Points to fire and is not currently loaded on (in tow by) a vehicle might conduct Opportunity Fire at an enemy Air Attack if that Air Attack occurs within the Soft Attack range of that unit.
Although that does not specifically claim the aircraft is a soft target ? :chin:
Wow, so
that's the way to bring the airforce into a battle with force:
Only one Air Attack may be plotted per location. If you want more than one Air Attack to hit in the same area, simply plot the additional one in a nearby location.

Regarding op fire, from Jason's
Hints & Tips document:
Hard Vehicles includes any vehicle that has a RED defence number. Tanks, SP Artillery, Halftracks, etc.
AT and Heavy AA includes all AT and AA units over 40mm.
Other Firing Units comprises of everything else from Infantry to HQ’s.
Hmmm, one more task for the famed Halftrack - protecting your heavy armour? :stir:
"Everything else" would seem to imply aircraft are soft targets?
