Off Topic  WW II era music
Came across these two little gems:

As it is -25C today, this seems approapriate:

Waves of Lake Onega (1942)

While this one promises more warmth:

Katyusha (trad.)

I know what they say about 'em CA girls... Russian girls?

EDIT: A few more

The well known German marching song "Erika", well, in Finnish version her name is:

Kaarina (1941)

As it became obvious the war would drag on, towards an uncertain future, the hits became much more serane. No more "Kaarina" instead of the likes of Waves of Lake Onega, or the very popular s Harmony Sisters with their mandatory version of Lili Marlen (Little Liisa, in Finnish), and what was their biggest success, a version of "Lamp lighting time in the valley", or Candles at my home, as it was translated .- both here:

The Harmony Sisters (1942)

Back to a marching beat, what is simply known as

Sillanpaa's Marching song (1940),

and properly patriotic, while not overly nationalistic, it remains popular and is still sung today. "Listen children, elder folks, mothers at home, no worries no trouble, as long there remains one man, still standing."

And finally, to end with a lighter tune, back to Eugene Malmsten and his Dallape Big Band:

A letter from a sailor (1942)

So how about sharing some of your favourites here! cheers

RE: WW II era music
I don't have any links, but I'd chose anything Andrews Sisters. (Long as I don't have to look at them.) :)

Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly
