Transfer units & equipment from WF to RS

Gentelmen, I need some very detailed instruction(Im pretty much computer illiterate) on how to transfer WF units & weapons to RS. I would like to make some scenarios covering the French Indochina war & need American para units for the French para units & American weapons to equip the French Expiditionary Force. Since the French didnt use their metropolitan army in Indochina & I have a very good source for the Morroccans, Sengilese & Algerian forces, I think I can equip them with 1940s American weaons & be realistic. Anyone have any OOBs that include French commanders at the reg/bat/gm level? Eric at [email protected]

I migrated the basic French OOB from WF to EF, but that includes the organizations and units up to summer 1940.

I would be interested to update the French as well, so hopefully I am able to assist you later this month...

Meanwhile, perhaps you can reach Stefan / Panther as what type of organizations and units he has created, and whether those coud be borrowed from his Mod to JTCS as far as the eras available to RS and EF make it possible.

Thanx for the help. Also, there are Free French units in WF that date up to June 1945 that have all the colonial type units that were later in the Expeditionary Force. The French didnt use metropolital troops(except airborne)troops in Indochina for political reasons. These units come in the division size elements but can be cherry picked by battalion & renamed. I just begun to combine the WF France and Vichy France into one OOB. I am also adding some US unit types there per Boisforas' suggestions (Eric, sent you an email) including Paras (G, V and regular), Chaffees, B-26 Mitchells, and a plethora of AC's and personnel carriers.

I won't have what it takes to create Indochina OOBs, but per your insight can assist in putting them together.

Additionally, I considered my options quickly and my first conclusion is just to bring Free French (19) OOB as such into RS, instead of migrating it into France (08). That would make it a tad easeir with higher level organizations, coys, bns, rgts, bdes etc.

In other words, the listing I provided above would appear as Free French in RS. We could of course beg Mike Amos to do his magic here in order to perhaps rename it into another France, with French tricolor for an example.

But that sort of graphics can wait, we would need to first do the basic unit migration.
