France'40 Gold problem
Playing Scenario #0510_01B3 Fall Gelb and have found a problem with some of the Belgian forts.
The Garrison in Fort de Tancremont in hex 350,220 shows Movement 21.  The Info side shows a speed of 4 which would indicate it could move.  However the game will not allow me to move it even though it is no longer Fixed.
When I try I get 'Unit is not capable of movement".
There are several other forts in the Liege area that also show movement of 21 but they are still fixed,

Meanwhile the Garrision at Fort de-Aubin-Neufchateau hex 347,202 shows a Fire Ability of 3 as does Fort de Batice in 351,210 and a speed of 0 which would indicate it can't move.

I understand a Fort not being able to move but not the garrison.
In any case something is wrong with the unit display or the engine.

RE: France'40 Gold problem
I have come across this myself and it is not a bug, I asked Volcano Man why the garrison MG units in his titles had a movement factor but were unable to move, he said it was intentional but for the life of me I cannot remember how he explained the movement factor away??  Whistle

RE: France'40 Gold problem
Just guessing but the lack of movement may be by design, to ensure the garrison is tied to the fort. In the OOB file it shows the Fort de Tancrémont garrison as having Speed '0' and Unit Class 'Foot'. But the Parameter Data has a default Foot Speed of 4km/hr, so perhaps it is this default that shows in the unit data for all Foot units and not the actual speed used by the game. In a similar way, the movement allowance of 21 may simply be based on this default. So I suspect the engine is fine but the display is wrong (or at least confusing).

Great explanation that indeed could be the answer. Wink
