Mentor Wanted
Hi from New Zealand

Been playing Steel Panthers now for a while and really enjoy it.

But i have just been given a copy of Comabt Mission - Barbaossa to Berlin, and have been trying to work my way through the mechanics of it but find i am getting more confused. The disk is just a basic copy with no manual. Guess I am too Steel Panthers orientated.

But in saying that CM seems to be one of the most popular games here in our community, so when in Rome.....

I am basically asking if this ladder like the Steel Panthers ladder has any mentors willing to offer some time to train a newbie at least enough to get me going.

Cheers Wigam

RE: Mentor Wanted
You could try droping a line to this address [email protected], this person is probably looking for people to play.

I kid, this person has just been banned for cheating. As far as a mentor goes just play some games. I would say steal panthers is alot more complex to get into than CM. Ask any specific questions on here and you should get constructive replies.

RE: Mentor Wanted
The best way and probably the only way to learn to play to CM well is to play people. Try playing some of the players with a good percentage win you will lose at first but its worth it the long run. I would avoid QB as you will end up buying the wrong units and give yourself no chance. Also avoid large scenarios as they can be very confusing at first.

By the way the rules will be on the disk you just need to enter windows explorer and print them off.

RE: Mentor Wanted
Wigam,

Not sure I'd be a great mentor, but if you'd like some practice-type games, I'm willing to walk you through some basic do's/don'ts while we play a game or two. We can play them off-ladder (no reporting at all), report them as draws no matter what, or post them as they score. It would be up to you.

Send me an e-mail to Panther Bait if you are interested.

Mike
