JagdPanther
Another possible modification by the folks at Aberdeen.
Note the part of the gun barrel just outside the mantlet.
Every photo of the 88mm L71 on a JagdPanther that I've ever
seen has a continuous-diameter barrel all the way to the muzzle brake.
Anyone ever seen on like this????
Panzer Dan, Baron von Beergut and I figured the Proving Ground folks
had to put some of these back together with whatever parts and pieces
were at hand if the originals were missing or badly damaged, and that the
Germans had probably spiked the gun barrel of this vehicle.

RE: JagdPanther
I think there was 2 types of Jagd Panzer V. As you can see from the Wikipedia and Youtube sites.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Jagdpanther_IWM.jpg

As you can see from the Youtube site it shows both types.

RE: JagdPanther
After looking at Pioneer's wiki images, and re-examining the Aberdeen photo, I think my image is an optical illusion. A rust line on the barrel makes it look like a bulging bore evacuator fitted onto the barrel, when in fact I think it's just the barrel sleeve as in the first wiki photo in Pioneer's post.

Thanks mate! cheers

RE: JagdPanther
May just be me, but that gun barrel seems too long.
