Here is another one, continuing the advance of the Japanese center force toward Bandung, Java.
viz: The Advance to Bandung
5 March, 1942
North of Lembang, Java: The Japanese Wakamatsu Unit advances
south from Sabang to the town of Tjiatar at the base of the mountain
barrier lying north of the Javanese capital of Bandung. Only
a few Dutch troops are deployed on the mountain road between
the Japanese and the ABDA Headuarters complexes at Lembang and
Bandung. With these few resources the Allies attempt to stop
the relentless Japanese advance. At about 1700 hrs, on March
4th, Maj Wakamatsu begins his advance into the hills. At this
point, his supply line could best be described as "extended".
By the 5th he was encountering the last organized Allied resistance
before Bandung.
