The skirmish between Cruiser HMS Renown and the German battlecruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau west of Narvik....(both parties retired after sustaining damage).....the 2nd battle of Narvik with HMS Warspite trailing a sortie of destroyers steaming into the fiords to destroy the out of supply German destroyers that were used in the initial invasion....

Not quite...Renown was a battlecruiser, with 6 15" guns as her main armament, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau had 9 11" Renown scored 3 hits on Gneisenau, interalia disabling her main armament FC. Renown hit twice, no significant damage. Germans broke off the action, Renown pursued in worsening weather and rising seas but the Germans made good their escape
