Moscow '41 - Battle for Rzhev
RE: Moscow '41 - Battle for Rzhev
I have just finished playing , I gave up on turn 60.
A few points to think about is this.
1) I think the axis forces need to be deployed a bit closer. My forces only move at 2 hexs a turn so its just to far to go even if there were no Russians I could not get there in time.
2)The axis forces should be deployed to the east of the first river, and cut back on the swamps.
3) Storms are ok but we had 10 turns of them, my HQ,s became stuck in swamps so could not move at all.
4) with no reinforcements and very little scope for movement it bacame a WW1 head on bash,my troops picked up a lot of fatigue points and had little time to rest.

This game is listed in the scenario mods section, but not in the H2H approved list, so maybe that's why you are not seeing it. The designer of this scenario is Joseph Alberti - don't know if he reads the forum or not.
I was Biderman's opponent in this game so I can echo his comments & frustrations. We talked it over a bit & both of us thought that maybe the battle should start with the Germans closer to the main objective, rather than go through some of the preliminary stuff. Also, we had 2(?) days of storms which slowed the germans considerably. Maybe also decrease the chance of a storm occuring?

Bidermann & Al,
What Foul was referring to was would you like to report the game result? If you do, let me know and I will add it to the scenario DB.

I'm OK with that. I believe it was a Major Soviet Victory but I'll have to get back to where I can check the results exactly.

Joseph Alberti aka Diocletian is one of our centurions on the HPS OPS ladder with 108 games played. He has not been very active lately. Maybe try and drop him a email or PM.
