Turning map labels off.

I'm in a night scenario where i'm tried to fire some starshells but in the process i seem to have turned on map labels permanently!!

Tried the shift key but no joy their still there on the map, any ideas how to turn them off?

Don't have the game open but Shift-alt I believe is what locks on the names. Shift alone should turn it off but, IIRC, it won't work if you have a unit selected. You have to click on an open tile on the map and then press shift.
