Thanks David for taking the time to do the interview, and Steve for creating it! Wink

It was a very interesting read that offered alot of extra information into the new release.

Hi All,

It's great to see people have 'noticed' the new title :)

Trust me it has been a labour of love to get this into your hands.

There have been a lot of people particularly from here at the Blitz who were involved in a number of different capacities. I am really thankful for all their input.

To those who aren't certain if this title is for them here are the links to the designer notes/history for each of the major campaigns represented;

Winter Campaign Notes (Soviet Counterattack)

Summer Campaign Notes (Fall Kreml)

You will also see a number of AAR's that Dogsoldier and I did during play testing posted here soon. It will give you a feel for some of the challenges built into the scenarios.

Finally, please feel free to ask any questions, I am here often and will try and answer any that are posted!

David

The notes are amazing, even better than Kharkov'43 ones (and those were very good)

Congrats David.

David,

In reading your SDC interview, it sounded as if you already have another project lined up.

How much time after releasing a new title have you found that you and your team normally needs to "recharge the batteries" so you can start focusing on the next project?

Thanks

RE: Q & A Interview with Moscow 42 designer David Freer (Strela)
I can neither confirm or deny :)

I can tell you I am having a go slow right now after an unbelievably full on 18 months to do Moscow '42. For the first time in a long time, I played a different game (new Xcom, by the way), but that will pass.

As mentioned in the interview there are always projects underway. Rich Hamilton of JTS support mentioned earlier in the year that there were 47 (!!!) projects underway. Now some of those have been released, but that still leaves a hell of a lot to see the light of day.

One of the best things about working with John Tiller is that he will provide support for projects even if the topic is terribly obscure. It has really allowed us as hobbyists to find areas that may not be mainstream, yet still interesting to the community. Both campaigns covered in Moscow '42 have had little coverage in a commercial war game. I was lucky that John understood the vision I saw and allowed us to bring it to fruition.

So in direct answer there are some future projects that I am looking at. They are in the Panzer Campaigns and Panzer Battles worlds. What they are and when they will be released don't ask. But I can tell you I don't think I can devote the amount of time I did over the last 18 months going forward as it was just a little over the top. That ultimately means there will be a longer hiatus before my next project. Now, I am not the only one working on projects so there maybe other titles before then....

You can all be confident though that Moscow '42 is not the last Panzer Campaigns title!

Finally, I actually want to play the game against some of you!!! :)
