Mentored games sound promising, although I don't mind if the mentor claims the real result if he wins.
What I would like to is that after the game, the mentor is telling me what I did wrong...
House rules are just house rules, you can negotiate with your opponent and come up with anything you fancy. They are just something that most players agree on, found sound in the many battles fought here.
FOO Rule is used by some, not by all. Standard points are not mandatory for entering a game into the ladder, any point set is good for the ladder if your opponent has agreed on it. You need the scoring sheet for counting result, including meeting.
