OK,

I have uploaded another scenario.

It is a 7500 point battle set in January 1945 during Operation Nordwind. It is a battle between 12 Rgt, 6 SS Gebirgsjager Division and elements of both the 274th and 276th Infantry Rgts, 70 US Infantry Division. The Germans battled their way into the town, captured a US battalion HQ and some supporting units, then were cut off from their division by terrain, weather, radio battery malfunction and American counterattacks. The initial American counterattacks were knee jerk reactions and were poorly coordinated, executed and beaten off with heavy losses. The Americans tried again on January 4, 1945. Colonel Cheves was given overall command and he attacked the village from three sides with some armor and arty support. The Germans knew what was waiting for them. They did receive permission to withdraw from the village, but decided to wait for nightfall, rather than be caught in the open by American armor and artillery. Their plan was to hold onto the village until the cover of darkness and rejoin the division.

This represents the battle on January 4, 1945.

It is historical and I really researched the battle and maps for this one. The map should be a nice representation of Wingen sur Moder, and it got compliments from a CM player that lives near that town.

I put this one together a long time ago, but it did not leave the Proving Grounds. Several people tested it, were excited about it, but then it was too many turns before the battle started. I made some changes that should make the action start faster.

-The original was deep snow, as would be historically correct, but I made it just "snow" and perhaps will go to light if that is not enough.

-I changed the setup zones, enlarging the Americans and changing the Germans. I hope that leads to quicker action.

I hope you try it and enjoy. I suggest downloading it and trying for a few turns. If movement is still too difficult and action too slow, let me know and I will try something else sooner rather than later.
