MOCKBA '41 (Opponent wanted)
Hi.

My exam period is finally over and Iam looking for an opponent to start a new pzc grand campaign.

I was thinking of the Moscow '41 Typhoon screnario. My only concern is that I dont know if the German player has any chance at all.

If someone has any experience regarding this scren pls tell.

Both sides are ok for me.

(ah and only sign up if you are reliable and wont quit after the first 10 turns..)

Hi
Lowlander and I are currently 44 turns into this game and I am finding it fascinating (as Germans) to say the least. The unpredictable weather has you waiting and hoping for favourable weather.
The terrain isnt totally ideal tank country, but the soviets are certainly capable of being pushed back.
A wily enemy can make you frustrated when you think you have broken through only to find another line of hasty defences thrown up.

Can the Germans win? Personally I think its will be tough to win. Yes you can gain ground but can you hold it when the counterattack surely comes?
I believe its a grand contest, and as for winning, well I am not sure I can do that, but as long as I do myself justice thats all that matters.
Ian might think I can win but that depends on what he's willing to admit to you!
Me ? I dunno. I just dunno. :chin:;) Time alone will tell how close I come.
I definately think its worth a go though.

RE: MOCKBA '41
I won the stronger German w/paradrop version against strong competition. By turn 120 or so I had moscow and beyond and was probably going to be able to push all the way to the map-edge in the center. I think the historical scenario would be difficult but not impossible for the Germans. The game will take up to a couple years to play btw.

Also, the frozen turns are an advantage to the German in my view. Streams disappear and infantry can move one hex and still assault for the mostpart. On storm turns, however, you might as well just rest everyone.

However , in Frozen turns your germans are less able to withstand the cold and infantry defend with either 12 or 14 instead of the usual 16, so they take higher losses...Eek
