supply question
I have a question re supply. Hope you can see the image. Should not the broken bridge and rail in the image above effect the supply levels, it appears it does not. If there is no rail capacity then is there any point in destroying rail lines as it appears to have no effect on supply? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

RE: supply question
Looks like the bridge and road is across a stream, not a river (although it is hard to tell). Bridges at streams have no effect on reduction of VST supply level, but bridges across rivers prevent it.
But, more importantly, AFAICR only roads affect VST supply level because it is supposed to represent supply trucks, not trains (VST = Virtual Supply Trucks). Unless I am mistaken, rails are not factored into the equation.

Yes Ed is correct, from the rules....."The rule computes a path of minimum movement cost for a motorized unit in Travel Mode between the Supply Sources and the location of friendly forces on the map."
So rail lines are irrelevant as far as VST supply is concerned. ;)

So rail lines are irrelevant as far as VST supply is concerned. ;) So actually rail lines would have in impact based on their benefit to travel mode movement, which is a separate setting in the PDT from roads, etc. So it wouldn't be as beneficial as rail movement would be, but it typically is better than nothing in bad terrain, such as forests. But in clear terrain it probably has no or little impact on the cost. But I don't think a blown rail line impacts this calculation - I believe they benefit travel movement the same whether blown or not.
And a blown bridge would have a minor impact, if across a stream rather than a river. Potentially more significant than a rail line depending on the game/pdt settings.

Hah, well, it is mainly because of the small image and .jpg artifacts, and the fact that I was looking at it at 4 AM. ;) Looking at it now, I can clearly see it is a stream.
