RE: To all opponents, co-commanders, etc.
It's not so bad yet, but if things keep going the way they are then collapse is inevitable and that could result in real chaos. It also shouldn't be forgotten that there are a growing number of political prisoners, mostly innocent people like the one hand clapping guy. During the last election the dictator simply imprisoned all opposition candidates when they campaigned because they were "demonstrating without permission." Florek is right, the opposition hurts itself because they are unable to form a united program. Florek is also correct in saying that the dictator sometimes does good for the people. True enough, but it's not because of sound decisions or government policies, it's simply because nobody can be wrong 100% of the time, no matter how stupid they are. I could give numerous examples of senseless and counterproductive laws and policies, particularly in the economic sector. Yeah, I was here a few times in the old days when this country was massively subsidized by Russia. Things were OK then, but those subsidies have been greatly reduced and will soon disappear entirely. On it's own this country hasn't been making it and now you have an alarmingly high inflation rate together with increasing energy prices. The price of gasoline is still about one half of the EU standard, but that will change over the next few years. We've all experienced how rising fuel costs can influence economic prosperity. Now Belarus is trying to keep things going by borrowing billions, but you can't run a country by simply borrowing money, only the USA can do that. Even if they get the loans it will take Belarus decades to pay them off and they will only be able to do that if they make some massive changes to their economic model.
