MYSTERY TANK?

I have just come across the Pz IV Schmalturm, which is a new one to me. Apparently, it was the turret from the Panther F married to the hull from the Pz IVJ. There is a picture of a model of the strange beast at

I suspect that it was created for use as a static field fortification, but I might be wrong. If it was intended as a static fortification, then I guess it is already covered in the new units included with PB#1 i.e. the Pantherturm. Does anyone know any more about this tank?

The Achtung Panzer website lists it as a project/prototype, so maybe it was something on the drawing board. Didn't sound like it was ever constructed though.
