March to the Gothic Line Tournament
Sorry for the hiatus gentlemen but I have been away for about 3 weeks as my HD suffered a critical failure and despite trying to breath life into it I had to go out and get it replaced. Needless to say Im back in the fold now and would like to know how you are all getting on.

Due to 101 getting punted for cheating Colonel Talvela goes through to the 2nd Round meanwhile McIvan scored 2 tactical victories against HullDown in what he described as a hard fought battle.

Im hoping you are all enjoying the challenges presented to you in this scenario and Im looking forward to unleashing my next scenario on those unfortunate enough to go through.

The website has also been updated to register the facts that players have made it through to Round 2.

thanks

RE: March to the Gothic Line Tournament
I havnt heard from Expandau in nearly a month now (July 25th). Apparently according to Cheat 101 I shouldnt expect turns for a long time.

Whats that mean?

I was going to get totals in both games so giving me bye aint realychanging anything:whis:

RE: March to the Gothic Line Tournament
Bootie,

Rasputin had to go on an emergency work trip on July 30 and I haven't heard from him since. I was hoping that when he returned on August 12 we could TCP to finish but that date has come and gone without any word. Since we are only on turn 12 or so I see no way we can finish anytime soon. I think that withdrawing might be the only possibility if everyone else is ready to move on. Please advise us on options.

Thanks,
Mixmaster

RE: March to the Gothic Line Tournament
Only 4 games have been completed so far and 3 of them have been byes due to opponents dropping out. Im quite disappointed that people sign up for tournaments and then drop out so quickly. I think the next tournament I run will be by invite only as it is really frustrating. Try mailing Rasputin and see if you can hook up for some tcp... no doubt this round will drag on into September.

My games vrs [RT] Pioneer are at Turn 30 and 33.

Should be ending soon. Good file return rate.

On the matter of "invites" only, perhaps reserves would be better ?
Everyone has started out in bootcamp with zero games and an unknown history.

However, nothing can be more frustrating than having continual drop-outs. It's your call.

I did think about bringing reserves in but Im not prepared to wait another 3 months for them to finish the games so we can move on to round 2.

I can't recall who were the dropouts.

A blacklist would probably be helpful.

Agreed, definately too late to bring in reserves.

RE: March to the Gothic Line Tournament
101 Paratrooper, Yushal and SS-Expandeux are the drop outs so their opps get byes whereas McIvan bravely battled through to Round 2 where more of the same crappy conditions, dodgy German defense and arguments about balance await. LOL
