I think if you can get the terrain height correct and a few of the objects then you should be on the way to creating a decent map. If you view the created file as a matrix then you could cut any size map you want, 2x2, 4x2, 4x4. Obviously in CM too large a map would have a negative impact on game play. If you played a campaign on one of the maps it would not be difficult to calculate the next map.
If you use this with the program to list units at the end of a battle then you are on your way to a campaign system. Lots of revisions would be needed but it would work with CMBO, CMBB and CMAK.
For example if a bridge was destroyed, you could alter the master map to reflect this. If the participating players decided that a bridge had been held long enough and repaired then it could be put back. If a building is blow to bits then you could change the building in the master map to rubble. So, if the battle goes back over you would see some sort of continuity.
I stopped working on this because CMC was on its way but CMC maybe a while.
A system could be up and running in a few weeks but you never know what Santa may bring (CMC).
