Rookie Team Game

Thumbs_Up  Rookie Team Game
Just wanted to share some good news with the club: Two grizzled vets have teamed up with four rookies and a new team game is now well underway.

The teams consist of Cam, Montana Grizz and mcwkjoyce (Michael) Vs. Scraps, Falkenhayen and The Rattler. The comradarie and enthusiasm of all involved has been absolutely tremendous so far!

The scenario is Huib's Constellation Overloon. It is primarily a 2x2 which allows both Cam and I to play the role of CiC for the most part while sharing strategies and experiences with our teammates who are doing the bulk of the fighting. Not much to report through only two turns so far - the Allied have made minimal progress in their invasion of the German Fatherland but there is still plenty of time to go.

Cheers fella's as the teams games you will find here are almost always fun and successful! cheers

Grizzled vet is right, have not shaved in 3 days :), anyway....

Yes it is a lot of fun. A good way to help rookies, even with tips of the game. Helps to keep the game alive.

And now from the Academy.........
Special thanks to Huib for a WF Team Game
An award for Laza and XLVIII Pz Korps, for helping me out when I first started at the club :)

A rookie / vet game was a good idea, others may want to try it

RE: Rookie Team Game
I am very much enjoying this rookie team game.

My CiC (CAM) gives us objectives and allows us to proceed. He is reactive instead of proactive (which is good) and provides advise such as, "You really have too many points in hex 24,31 and should try not to overload on subsequent turns".

I can only hope that my opponents don't take too much of an advantage of my errors and I can make the appropriate corrections.

He critiques the move after it's over. I can only imagine him occasionally cringeing when he receives a rookie move that is indeed a rookie move, but I will learn a great deal from the experience and his advise and look forward to many more team contests.

Give a man fire and he'll be warm for a day.
Light a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

RE: Rookie Team Game
Yes Mike Calandra (scraps) has put in tirelessly sending detailed maps of the situation at hand and reports on how to carry out certain tasks along with tips on becoming a formidable opponent. He has a general strategy in mind and we try and carry out our moves according to that strategy. huib also supplied a map for us all. Great stuff !
