In real life history would not Russian Guards units have been given better equipment vs. regular Russian units? Let's say better or more infantry weapons, more or better anti-tank weapons,etc.? This would give those units better hard and soft attack values (reflected in PzC games), would it not?

Good argument. the little explication for minsk ( in words) is precious too.

actually on Campaigns-france there is a big question " alternative indirecte fire or not " and the two solution is approximative and not very realistic, and your works is a good balance. it's my opinion and I think mike's opinion too but all are not agree with these perception.
