What's with all the damn trucks?

What's with all the damn trucks?
Scenario after scenario, mostly the larger ones; I start off with a hundred unloaded trucks and might use ten!!!!!!

Is this tofu or rice or soy beans added to the hamburger to give it quantity, if not quality?

I've played scenario's where it takes me longer to move the damn movers out of the way than it does to make my REAL moves!!!

Thanks,

Pat

I think it's a scenario designer thing - when you are designing a scenario and import a unit into the scenario it arrives with all its generic transport units. It is a major pain to remove them so many designers just deploy them on the map.

A fair comment it is a pain to remove them when designing a scenario, but think of the exponential pain which is inflicted on countless unsuspecting players...

Thank you Wolfman and Digger, that explains the situation.

Too bad you can't just highlight a transport and remove it without traveling 40 hexes to a map edge.

Thanks again,

Pat

They do come in handy in the larger scenarios for reinforcement purposes............I usually remove them from the OOB unless I think they will be required in future turns.........let 'em ride the tanks :-)

Of course most of the campaign players will want the trucks........ :-)

I agree with Earl. Many times you'll need trucks, wagons and others to move your troops to other area or get arty closer as your troops advance!

Moreover as designer you want to give players a freedom of manouver to send reinforcements to the area where they really want them.

Cannot imagine infantry moving all way on foot in scenarios like "The Bridgehead at Rzhavets" or "Another Lost Victory" Big Grin
