OT- Harpoon 3

Is anybody going to buy this game? I played Harpoon 1 along time ago and it was pretty good. The only thing is im not the happiest person when it comes to Matrix games.

I played some of the previous Harpoon games (can't remember which version now) and liked them, but I will probably wait and see before I buy it.

You may get more input from the guys on the Uncommon Valor ladder/MB here, as it is similar in scope at least if not time frame. Plus UV and WiTP are Matrix products as well. Just a thought.

I've owned all ther versions. i wll definately buy it. I found it be a great game and the ability to play it against a human is just toooooo good to pass up.

In fact I bought the full game a while back but didn't like it,it's still as buggy and fiddly as the previous versions.

I tried Fleet Command too but its far too oversimple to be taken seriously.

At the moment I play Dangerous Waters, its not bad but a bit buggy and far from perfect, it uses a lot of the Fleet Command engine -

I also remeber the great days of Harpoon 1 and then 2. But so dissapointed with Harpoon 3, the interface is a pain to work with, graphics just suck.

I deleted the game and will never play it again untill it has been totaly revamped.

whiles it's not complete and still being "built" it plays good and there is some good fun popping up in the middle of a large convoy only to find escorts bearing down on you from all sides!

Panther Bait.
The only bad thing about this game is how much the game costs.

I thought WITP was about average price wise for a digital download game.....i'm thinking of reinstalling UV again and if i can get into it then maybe getting WITP. Are there any mods for either game?

I'll try Randy's suggestion of Danger from the Deep if my old PC can do the alpha demo download.
BTW -I made a fool of myself last year when I bought Silent Hunter III and found when I got home that I hadn't noticed it was DVD-only, and I don't have a DVD drive - duh
At first the shop refused to refund me but I raised hell with their head office and got my money back.. :)

Is this a full realism game like SHIII? If it is of the same quality I might give it a try... breaking my head when manually targetting and calculating angle on the bow etc....
