BGW stable in XP?

Hi

I was looking for PBEM game of BGW, a small scenario to begin with, but I remember that the last time I played a full campaign against the AI the game save I had fairly late in the game froze and became unplayable. Is BGW stable as a rule in XP, or should I wait until the Matrix edition comes out for the BG series? I dont want for my sake or my opponents, to get so far into a game only for my XP to muck the game up.

Any advice gratefully received.

Okay, thanks for that. It looks like I will just have to bite the bullet and try a PBEM game.

I miss the BGW/PTW graphics! I dont miss the added game turn phases.
