the problem is that many people seem to have problems with v1.04 under winXp while v1.06 is said to support Xp, although i never had any problems with v1.04 under Xp...
I had some problems with 1.04, the modern day scenarios (Fulda etc) wouldn't load, I would just get a large blank map. With 1.06 it works fine, but I find that combat is pretty easy. Of course, that is against the AI but none the less in the game I am practicing with against the CPU I have defeated the North Koreans in about 2 months!
As for the crashing, that was due to my not deleting the necessary files before installing the patch.

Nope, the game would say they were loading and would go to the first turn, but there was no map, just a big green field (no roads, cities, hills etc). I will try again though, but I noticed that the patch on the blitz is 1.6, can I get 1.4 from Talonsoft?
