Actually, I used to not care, but now always reverse the map if necessary so that my forces are moving forward (away from me). That way, if they start streaming back in disorder . . . I can rally them. :laughing:
But it does seem to help the tactical perspective on a battle to have your forces in front of you, moving forward.
But why is it we all think that "up" is north? Human nature I guess. :chin:
Question: How can you tell which direction is north, south, east or west in a scenario? I used to be able to hit a key and display the compass for a scenario, but have not been able to do that for years. Does anyone know how to activate that feature of CS or did it disappear with EF? Used to be a key you hit that popped up a compass legend in the corner.

I thought that the Shift Key would display place names and the compass in the top left corner - has this changed?

The shift key works but if I remember the map has to be zoomed out to 4 or 5 before the compass rose shows.
