pbem file problem

Hi,
In a quick battle game my opponent sent me the first file in a text format instead of cmg format. Is this OK?
Is there a fault in the way that the file was attached to the message?
I tried to convert it to cmg but it didn't work.
Any help?

PBEM files are in .txt format. Just copy it to your PBEM folder and open it from in the game, cmg is the format that is used for scenarios (or OPs i forget which) but it's not used for actually playing a PBEM game.
