What game to get?
I am thinking of getting into Napoleonic games. What ones are played in the ladders?

RE: What game to get?
All of the TS Nappy and all the HPS Nappy titles are supported on this ladder! :)

We currently support over a dozen game titles for the Nappy ladder. You can check the list out at link at the top of the page G4 Supply / Scenarios.

Thanks guys. It'll be a week or two before I get around to it. Gonna surf ebay for the titles.

Try Amazon too; they generally have HPS titles for about what you'd end up paying in an Ebay auction.

Graphics are better in TS, but HPS has a smoother game play and gives you whole campaigns instead of one battle. A few differences between the systems.

HPS has some quirks; like allowing assaults on town hexes without disrupting the attacking infantry if the defenders are skirmishers.

I own all the TS, but am starting to aquire the HPS games. Of the TS games, I like Prelude to Waterloo (PTW) the best because of the variety of scenarios (two battles indenpently or fought together). I only have HPS Eckmuhl right now, so I can't give a "best" opinion on that series.

Havoc,

I had a look at your profile and given the games you play, you might help me to make a choice.

I'm a big fan of SPMBT, I'm almost a Centurion at that Ladder. But I'd like to also start another Ladder.

I'm testing HPS PzC Minsk 44. It's too massive for me. No mobility, scenarios are too long to play. Plus I have no interest in ww2 (that's why I play SPMBT rather than SPWW2).
Perhaps the HPS Modern campaigns ? Worth testing but I'm afraid of the possible big size of the scenarios.

I'm more attracted by HPS ACW and HPS Nappy. They seem quite close (cavalry / infantry / artillery). Which one would you recommend ? Which one has more small sized scenarios ?

Thx for your lights.

RE: What game to get?
I think it depends more on your interests. Both ACW and NAP have games with short scenarios. I would suggest buying a campaign you're familiar with to start. This will ease the learning of the mechanics. You can find many of the titles at amazon for a reasonable price:
