Max number of units?
Whats the max number of units you can purchase in the WinSP games?

Is it 350 for a beach assault and 500 for a standard game?

cheers

RE: Max number of units?
I've not heard of that limit on beach landings but I do recall a 500 unit limit in one of the games. I used most of a VG Division in SPWW2 and ran int trouble. You are also limited to a # of formations IIRC.

Check the Game Guide. I know that they increased something but not sure what or when.

RE: Max number of units?
There was a fight: Lebanon, Syria, PLO against Israel 2007.
Two on two.

To arabs has not sufficed units (500) and formations (200) as the army was in the basic structure from infantry. :)

RE: Max number of units?
I found the 350 limit in the game manual, each unit has to allow for a barge as well for beach assaults, but i can't find any mention of a limit for standard games. But try as i might i can't purchase more than 500 units. Cry

Take more points and buy units yet will not reach limit.

WinSPMBT 3.5 :

500 units.
200 formations.

RE: Max number of units?
That is what I thought. Infantry formations take up a lot of slots. They usually have a lot of small specialist units in the company. AT/AA/MG/Mtr. I found that the 200 formation limit is the most restrictive. Every platoon or section is a formation.

RE: Max number of units?
Yep, even a single tank purchase is a 'formation' and will use one of those precious formation slots..

Also, if you max out the unit count, the game won't have enough room for you to manually bail-out a crew.. and if enough crew-served units are lost, then the game reaches a point where a unit is destroyed no crew can be generated.. probably not bad for a KIA, but if a tank is routed and the crew decides to bail.. well there won't be a crew generated and the tank will remain abandonded with no chance of a crew jumping back in..
