Either this is a sad indictment on humanity or you're just an old cynic. :P

I prefer huge campaigns so saves on are pretty much mandatory. It just means I have to be careful choosing my opponents.

They were advancing towards a nearby enemy, attacking. I doubt they were in column. Even T mode losses are trivial compared to an ambush. Still, I would I would be delighted to see, occasionally, a travel mode unit ambushed by a previously unspotted defender, and having it's losses magnified by 6. Or any random number, after ambush has been invoked.
