Single Player QB ARR
This is my first AAR so bare with me. This battle was fought against the computer AI. I played US Stryker Company vs. Insurgents in meeting engagement. I should have played the insurgents because this turned out to be a cake-walk for the US. I played in real time to save some time. It did become some sort of a click fest and i cannot coordinate the moves as you cannot give orders while paused in Elite level in the current build.

I was given 2 Stryker platoons and one Engineer platoon.
My plan is to send 2nd Platoon in the center to secure the major intersection. 1st Platoon will secure the objective on the right. And the Engineer platoon will flank on the left.

RE: Single Player QB ARR
After 2 minutes, 2nd platoon reaches the central crossroad.
They will take positions with good vantage points on the main road (red circles).

As planned, the insurgents tried to go through the main road. Of course those guys will get shot. :smg:

RE: Single Player QB ARR
9 minutes into the battle, 1st platoon reaches the objective and secures the surrounding buildings. They have good view of the large islamic building and anything that tries to run out from there. As expected (again) the insurgents are falling into my trap. But instead of running across the street, they were crawling. This reminds me of the "Crawl of Death" in Close Combat.

10 minutes into the battle. Insurgent technical pops up in the main road. My .50 cal Strykers can handle this easily. :smg:

1 minute after, an insurgent squad tries to sneak into the objective block.
My squads are waiting for them. Yet again, we see the infamous "Crawl of Death".

Now a look at the situation.
2nd platoon securely defends the central area and the main road.
1st platoon securely defends the objective in the right side.
Insurgents are held at bay near the large Islamic building.
3rd platoon half way along the planned flanking maneuver.

RE: Single Player QB ARR
I plan to send 3rd platoon across the trees to flank the enemy.
I'm pretty sure they'll never suspect this.

Meanwhile, I sent a Stryker (w/ grenade launcher) of the 1st Platoon to a more forward position. I effectively lays waste to crawling insurgents (again) and technicals.

Back to the flanking engineers...
One Stryker actually got stuck in the rough / bushy terrain.
So I thought of dismounting the riders and move through the district by breaching the walls. The other 3 Strykers will continue with their planned path.

RE: Single Player QB ARR
As 3rd platoon reaches the flank position to dismount and blow the walls, the game ends.

It was a bit anticlimactic. :conf:

RE: Single Player QB ARR
You could say that this operation was conducted correctly by the US with no one getting shot or killed. But the enemy AI did not put up a fight. :hissy: They relied on the "Crawl of Death" and were pretty much underpowered. I guess these guys would fare better if it were a US assault mission. Or I could take the insurgent side to increase the challenge.

Hope you learned something from my AAR. :whis:
