Burma
Gents,

Just back from hospital.

It is cruel how fate can be sometimes. On Thursday, my son brought to me a package, just received from a member of the Burma Star Association. The contents, made my jaw drop.

I had based my Burma maps (Kawkareik, Moulmein...etc) on 1:500,000 scale topo maps (1967) and had adjusted for population, building and etc, and had used situation maps gleaned from battle descriptions and the usual.

This package contained a series of 1:250,000 topo maps (1946) of selected areas of Burma. Upon examination, Kawkareik's map is as accurate as the CS system allows it to be. The details of Moulmein...have me wondering if the map needs some adjustment...but my original is as accurate as it needs to be...for now. In the future I may be updating the scenario...but not now (the victory conditions have me really in suspense). The scenario, as released, is accurate enough...!?

This new info will be included in the reworks of the rest of the scenarios...and maybe Moulmein...when I get over my shock.

Cheers
Curt
