This anti-POS trolling game is going to end rather abruptly if it continues to reappear in every thread this member makes. POS has just as much right to post here as any Blitz Member.
I find these queries about his playing styles to be inconsiderate and unbecoming of Blitz members, lest you forget out mission here :
Mission: To help the rookies, connect the regulars and honor the hardcore!
Allow me to refresh everyone:
There is NO rule here that anyone cannot play what they want and against whomever accepts their challenge, nor is it written that challenges must be accepted by anyone. I see complaints about POS's settings yet these same complainers are just as much guilty in their reluctance to accept his challenge, as much as he was to refuse theirs.
Move on and find opponents you can play and post about your experiences rather than continue to troll this member for what you feel is an unethical gaming style. People here can make their own minds up without the need for constant news flashes on the subject.
I don't see ANYONE else offering to tackle 10+ games and post about each one of them.
Honor the Hardcore.. in spite of all his faults, POS is certainly walking the walk right now.
You are absolutely correct RD... this MB has no place for that kind of thing. I for one will not post ever again in a POS thread, nor will I make any negative comments about any member, even if they are only in jest.
Hopefully this will be seen as a challenge to the other miscreants and hooligans to do the same. I expect the next person to post something negative in a POS thread, or negative about anyone else on these forums to be expelled immediately.
Cheers!

Because when a member has a habit of taking cheap shots at other members and then editing his posts, posting off topic self-promoting junk in otherwise useful threads, lies about his record, and insults members who won't play games using only his specific parameters, you can expect people to be annoyed by that member.
RedDevil Wrote:This anti-POS trolling game is going to end rather abruptly if it continues to reappear in every thread this member makes. POS has just as much right to post here as any Blitz Member.
Sure, and people have a right to respond when he posts misleading and insulting junk. Or maybe they don't, I guess that's not my decision to make.
RedDevil Wrote:I find these queries about his playing styles to be inconsiderate and unbecoming of Blitz members...
I find POS's arrogance and underhandedness inconsiderate and unbecoming.
RedDevil Wrote:Allow me to refresh everyone:

Sure, and plenty of people only play specific scenarois/parameters/whatever and provoke no reaction. Why is POS different? Because he tries to play it off as if he accepts ALL challenges from ANYONE, no MATTER what. You can try to stop people from pointing out the emporer has no clothes (or is an idiot or whatever), but people like the truth.
RedDevil Wrote:People here can make their own minds up without the need for constant news flashes on the subject.
The news flashes wouldn't be constant if the horse malarkey being posted wasn't constant. Some people have an irrepressible need to expose hypocrisy, lies, and just plain stupidity. It's a good thing.
RedDevil Wrote:I don't see ANYONE else offering to tackle 10+ games and post about each one of them.
Get rid of clickies, and you sort of get desperate for any sort of content on the message board, eh?
RedDevil Wrote:Honor the Hardcore.. in spite of all his faults, POS is certainly walking the walk right now.
Post all your screenshots in three seperate threads, chatter incessantly about all the games your playing, and get to say whatever you want without fear that people might correct your silliness? Hmm...
Sorry if that all seems harsh. I really find POS sort of amusing and harmless - it's sort of fun to watch him jump around in his unceasing efforts to convince us all he is a CM juggernaut. But to suggest that one member should be allowed to post lies, insulting statements about other members, and taunts directed at those who won't play his parameters, and then publicly warn those who respond in kind strikes me as both patently unfair and doomed to failure.

I think most of the issue is of your own conjuring, you have relentlessly pursued POS on anything he's posted here since day 1 because of his posting style, which is not much worse than your own.
The incessant rantings about clickies which are totally irreverent to any CM topic here, continue to pop up in everything you post as well.
POS doesn't need clickies to post here and he can start a thread on his own that relates to CM.. contributing far more than I can see coming from quite a few here who cry our club is dying because no one is posting.
Criticism works both ways, by claiming he is wrong for his actions yet denying yours are similar, is as hypocritical as anyone can get. I find your actions to be just as unbecoming and immature as much.
I agree you have a right to respond to anything he says about you, but he's not been talking about you, he's talking about his opponents and games he's playing, he's also responding to your trolling about his style, does he not have that right as well? If he is lying about someone, they can respond just the same. There are always 2 sides to an argument, and I think we members can make our OWN judgments on the matter without any excessive lobbying from someone biased against one of the participants.
I'm not so sure the problem child is POS anyways, he's behaving here and only responding to the pursuits of others who dwell on the thought to purge him from the Club based upon their perceptions of his past actions, like they're perfect angels themselves...
He has proven to be a most contributing member of the CM community here, irregardless of his character flaws and posting style.
I sense a bit of jealousy, and view these suggestive attempts to rid the community of a member who contributes, in exchange for the same old NON CM material postings of yesteryears, as a poor choice of options. Which path is beneficial to the community? Which path is beneficial to you?
Again, IMO your style is overbearing and overindulging, it's fine to point out something and voice an opinion, but to continue with the gluttonous banter just for spite of reaction, is a superficial sign of trolling.
Let it go and move on to your own threads and games, lest I be forced to remind you for a 3rd time to stop and wear my patience thin on handling it nicely.

The point being that things had settled, and we would have liked it to stay that way. I really don't get what prompted this latest mini-conflagration storm-in-a-teacup :conf:
Guys, please restrain yourself from pre-emptive strikes. There is simply no need. This really is going to lead to more serious action by the moderators if we can't all keep more proportion and that would be incredibly disappointing.

Yet apparently he's some boon to the Blitz, whereas I am an annoying scourge of the message boards. Interesting.
RedDevil Wrote:The incessant rantings about clickies which are totally irreverent to any CM topic here, continue to pop up in everything you post as well.
Strange use of the word "incessant", as I haven't posted anything mentioning clickies in days, maybe weeks, until that last post, where it just provided a bit of comic relief.
RedDevil Wrote:POS doesn't need clickies to post here and he can start a thread on his own that relates to CM.. contributing far more than I can see coming from quite a few here who cry our club is dying because no one is posting.
And yet I continue to post on all manner of topics. I'm not sure who that silly comment was aimed at.
RedDevil Wrote:Criticism works both ways, by claiming he is wrong for his actions yet denying yours are similar, is as hypocritical as anyone can get. I find your actions to be just as unbecoming and immature as much.
You seem not to have understood the point of my previous comments. I wasn't saying POS is bad and I am good. I'm saying POS acts like a child and people respond to him childishly. I have no problem with that. I think it's strange that the people that respond to him get publicly warned while he does not. If childishness is going to be ruled out, let it be, but let it be for everyone.
RedDevil Wrote:I agree you have a right to respond to anything he says about you, but he's not been talking about you, he's talking about his opponents and games he's playing, he's also responding to your trolling about his style, does he not have that right as well? Again, I think you've confused the events here. I didn't say anything negative about POS in this thread at all up until that last post, and that was just to point out why I think people are responding to POS negatively, as you seemed to think he was nicely and politely issuing challenges and people were bothered by that for some strange reason.
Edit: Okay, I take that back - forgot about the whole Rommel/Hitler/Guderian thing - but I think that was all in good fun...

Right...sorry I haven't been able to see it so objectively up until now.

Check the sense-o-meter then.

Well, I guess everyone can have an opinion. Interestingly, I find you a bit overbearing as well. You can hammer away incessantly at the same points as well as me, and then claim the high ground. I just don't get to end my posts with a threat.

RE: THE POTHMAN CHALLENGE, BRITS v 21 Pz
For myself at least, being somewhat taciturn even in responses in email games (unless I've had a few ), I find the players with a sense of humor to be enjoyable and the rejoinders if polite or humorous to be fun too :). However, attacking a player for real is uncalled for and a profound bummer. If you don't have something good (or funny) to say, then why say it in a public forum... almost nobody appreciates it. POS is an ornery old cuss (I've said this before) but he's fun to play and I like reading his posts because he's humourous (I'm wondering if he ever sleeps):chin: I am glad he's back to posting on the ladder and contributing to the forum.
We all need to take a deep breath before hitting send on emails that can be construed as a personal attack I think.:kill:
For what it's worth.

RE: THE POTHMAN CHALLENGE, BRITS v 21 Pz
I agree. I found POS to be polite, punctual ( I agree he must never sleep!) and quite amusing... helpful too during our recent pbem game where he massacred me pretty good. He didnt partake of gloating or rubbing my nose in it as some pointed out he was apt to do.

If he dosnt need clikies why did he complain so much about negative one's, infact threatening to leave on several occasions to leave unless the system was reformed.
Red, some if not many here find/used to find POS deeply annoying. That annoyance didnt emerge from a vacuum, far from it. Before the system was changed I counted POS many red marks and the one poster to give him the most was Mcivan. The annoyance caused is not limited to a few individuals however much you want to claim it is. You say you want a settled community, yet dont mind when a certain poster charges about with the rampant subtlety of a bull in a china shop, but dont hesitate to jump down the throat of anyone who says mind the plates.
I for one dont really pay much attention to the drama bomb that is POS any more, and my annoyance has diminished a hundredfold, as perhaps is the case with many others such as POS's red cliky nemesis Mcivan, however I cant help but feel a policy of letting the bomb go off again and again and again and than only censuring those who complain about the blast is a bit unfair. Couldnt we have just a little less bomb?
