Up to speed.
I have been gone for a long time, burn out and change of circumstances.
I have read a few posts about the MATRIX, what is that, will my old discs do if I reactivate.
What new stuff is going on?
Lestmann.

RE: Up to speed.
Hi Lestman welcome back :)
You can still use your old games. The Matrix Edition of the CS series EF,WF and Rising Sun has been reissued by Matrix Games. with an awsome update of oobs by Jason Petho and some new scenarios. If you have Vista the games run on that OS. And the Beta Brigade and Jason have been busy working on some more scenarios and oob's for the next patch update :smoke: And beyond that it's looking pretty good ;)

RE: Up to speed.
Hi Bryan,

It is good to hear from you. I hope that bike is still in good shape.

Matrix bought the CS series. It looks like your CS game, but you no longer have to switch discs. It has tech support(Mr. Pethro), and they are adding new units & scenarios.

It plays the CS custom scenarios. You can download a scenario that is in the Blitz depot and play it on Matrix version. You can not play a scenario that was created using the Matrix version on the CS format.

Go to the Matrix site and read up on the John Tillers Campaign Series.

I really like it & I think you will too.

Santa could drop one in your stocking, right?;)
Take care! Jack

RE: Up to speed.
Hello,

For sure you can still use your old discs, just keeping in mind that Talonsoft and Matrix editions are not crossplayable...

RE: Up to speed.
Welcome back. Toast
To build on what everyone has said:
It's nice to have you back.
Let us know if you need to be reactivated? Or, I can just reactivate your old account in a couple minutes. ;)

If you start playing someone make sure, in addition to ROE's, you discuss whether they are using Matrix. The OOB's for some scenarios contain units that are not found in the old Talonsoft games.

Matrix includes the no CD feature and is well supported by the company and CS team. It is a breath of fresh are for those who have loved this game for so long! Big Grin

It's good to hear from you again!

cheers

Ed

RE: Up to speed.
Thanks for the welcome back, I am flattered, Yes I want to reactivate and perhaps take a short small scen to get back into it.
Thanks.
I will have to go and check out the matrix games and see what I can do about upgrading.

Some of you may ask what I have been doing and where have I been?
I am now a student, thanks to my wife, and I also have done some fairly extensive motorcycle touring in the western united states.

The collage, I am taking history, english maths and speech, it has been an eye opener and great fun.
The history, well that the one I like the most, writing papers on historical figures and events is something that I have found I love to do.
Using critical thinking and my opinion on any given subject makes for some interesting research, it is not just knowing when and where but also taking an in depth look at why. Of course that all depends what point of view you have in relationship to the questions asked.

RE: Up to speed.
I remember my college days when we discussed what is historical fact in view of "historicity".
When the history dealt with military events most examples could be drawn down to was the historical fact reported as a "massive victory" or a "massacre".
I always view the 'who wrote it' part of recording of the fact. :smoke:

Objective is a word to be used sparringly?

If you are interested in a small scenario to stretch your legs, pick one out. I have the Matrix games loaded and can play anything you select.
Since you've been gone I switched my internet carrier and I now have the address [email protected].

cheers

RE: Up to speed.
I do not have the Matrix, I only have the EFII, WF and RS. I have the EFII expansion that was made by JVK and co attached to my EFII.
