Manual Revision for 1.03

Manual Revision for 1.03
I am in the middle of revising the manual for the 1.03 UPDATE, and it's mostly complete with the exception of describing the new units and describing the new bootcamp scenarios.

What types of things would you like to see revised?

I would just like to ensure I am covering everything!

Thanks for your assistance!

RE: Manual Revision for 1.03
Even though the combat results table are available from the menu it would be good to have a few hard copy reference pages. Maybe I'm too old fashioned but I prefer to go to a hard copy for some references instead of a on screen menu.
Some of the items in the index are hard to find. For example star shells. I have dog eared in my manual the star shell page as I cannot find it via the index.
Even though you have space and size limitations I would keep the FAQ section. Now days I know most of the information but I have found that section very useful in learning many points of the game.
Thanks for all the hard work on a great game.

The Combat Results Table has been added to the Manual, I added it on Saturday. It will be available in section 5.21

I am seriously contemplated changing the index to section number rather than page number. One should be reading the entire section anyway to have a good grasp of what the section is trying to discuss.

Starshells are covered in section 5.22.2

I don't believe this will be a printed manual, as I have added a large number of pages already to the manual. I am only removing the elements that are no longer relevent; for example, an explanation on how to install Directx 6!. The FAQ will remain, and I will try to add them if I find something not covered in the manual.

Thank you for your thoughts!!!

RE: Manual Revision for 1.03
Greetings!
If the ptlndata and wpndata help files are updated for any new units, I'll be happy. No other personal requests for the manual.

Thanks for the hard work!

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to update these files. Wish I did!

On the other hand, Jim von Krieg has provided me with some EXCEL sheets that detail the new German and Soviet/Russian platoons. Not including the weapon files though.

All my pleasure!!

Cool, any chance of those being posted anywhere? Pretty simple to make Excel sheets from the help files, then people could have all the current data.

Thanks again! :)

The Excel sheets will be included in the "Manuals" folder that will come with the 1.03 UPDATE.

Any chance the manual will be PDF format?

I've gotten the bug to do some more scenarios. I'd like to get some of the new units mixed into them. :smoke:

cheers

Hopefully a PDF and a Doc version will be available. I know more when it's closer to being complete!
