Replay
I have noticed that while watching my opponents replay in a PBEM game, that when I defensive fire, or OP/return fire, there is no sound delay for my fires. This causes my fires to flash very quickly on the screen, and sometimes I have a hard time seeing what happened. I have checked a number of times, thinking I had the fast AI option checked, but that is not the case. Anyone else having this happen?

RE: Replay
I have had something similar to this happen. For me, it has happened during my turn, when my oppo's OF or DF is triggered, in which event the result flashes on the screen very quickly then disappears.
It appears to come and go, which suggests to me that it is happening in some titles and not in others, and is therefore a setting issue. It started (as I recall it) when I sped up a replay.

RE: Replay
probably this hotkeys will help:
F6 normal speed
F7 increases speed gradually ( I recomend using this in long replays with the sounds turned off in the settings menu)
F8 megafast speed

RE: Replay
Yes, but in my experience it only works partially. As stated, I can speed the game up for a replay, but when I slow it down afterward it doesn't work completely. After hitting "normal speed" the return fire from my oppo's units still flashes by on F8 speed... :conf:

RE: Replay
I've had problems in the past with this feature similar to the one you describe. When I detected abnormal behaviors I fixed them by hitting normal speed (make sure fast AI processing is unchecked afterwards) and restarting the engine (closing all hps games active in RAM). Remember to save the game first. Hope that works for you as well.

RE: Replay
First thing I do is quit and restart; that often sets things back to normal speed.
A trick someone posted a while ago that works if the replay ends on F8 (aka, ludicrous speed :)) is to make the first two combat actions be artillery fire done from the artillery dialog. The first shot happens at the high speed, but the second, and all subsequent firing, is then set back to normal speed.
Wierd yes, but it works.

RE: Replay
Well, my problem is that it happens while watching the replay.
Von Waldenburg:if I save the game, then quit, then re-start the game, the replay is wiped out, and unavailable?
Sgt Barker: Are you saying that this works to slow down the turn you are now playing?? Or do you do this (two Art fires) and then go into the replay and watch the replay??
Nothing above has worked, and it is annoying. While watching the replay, everything works normally when my opponent fires at me. But my return fires that happened during HIS turn are just a flash. No sound.

RE: Replay
I have exactly the same problem. I have seen it only in Smolensk, and started happening when I installed the new patch. I thought it was some kind of new way of presenting the replay, really.

The first - it slows down the turn you're playing, not the replay. Must have misunderstood your initial post.
I have seen exactly the symptom you describe though - in the replay opponent's fire is normal, mine's at light speed. Don't know of any specific fix if F6 or restarting don't work.
