Snipers at Stalingrad

Snipers at Stalingrad
Snipers at Stalingrad is an idea I've been having for some years now.

I want to build a large map representing Stalingrad where snipers rule.

Remarks and questions:

*the idea is light snow
*rubble and destruction
*how about the points? how do you balance lots of infantry against snipers? should I include the same amount of infantry and snipers on both sides?
*how large should I make the armies?
*battle or operation?
*small of large?
*HT's and tanks?
*artillery?

Comments are appreciated!

RE: Snipers at Stalingrad
Hmmm a game with Tanks, HT's and artillery will surely diminish your idea for snipers rulling.

RE: Snipers at Stalingrad
Agree with BOOTIE:
also a small map with let's say each side aprox 8 or 10 snipers, an elite for both sides, some cracks / vets and some regulars.
(A scenario like the movie: Enemy at the gate.)
Maybe you can give each side a battallion HQ wich has to be neutralised.
Other option to give each side some infantry, a platoon or a coy (-) but not more.
I suggest no vehicles / guns because you will a sniper battle and no full scale war battle.

good luck!

RE: Snipers at Stalingrad
Kill the opponent commander sounds well but will be unrealistic in the battle. Simple when you give him a hide order in the rubble you will never find him. I suggest also each side 1 big flag.

hmmmm....if each side has 1 flag...why should they attack or search&destroy?

RE: Snipers at Stalingrad
Defend your own HQ / Flag and attack your opponents HQ / Flag.
Ofcourse 1 flag central is also possoble like an meeting engagement.
This could be interesting with on both sides an setup zone for the snipers they are also deployed between the enemy infantry coy and the flag. So in your advance to the flag you have a confrontation with enemy snipers!

Or you could just make up your own scoring system... not all results ve to be what the game dictates.

Why not say you have 4 HQ. if your opponent destroys 4 he gets a Total Victory... if you prevent 4 from being killed you get a Total Victory... think outside the box.

RE: Snipers at Stalingrad
good ideas...

what about an exit scenario in mirror games where you have to walk your general, 2 colonels and 1 major to safety.
You have 1 company to protect them with snipers probing the enemy's lines?
