New Patch For Matrix Battleground

I just noticed they released a patch on the Matrix Games website for that crashing problem that sometimes occurs in the matrix battleground games, just a heads up for anybody that doesn't know. Also I have a question about that. If I install the patch right now will it affect my current PBEM game in any adverse way (Make it crash or something)?

An extension to 3-3's question; 'Jump window' has gone belly up on my Matrix series of BG, and it's pissing me off not being able to use it.

Now if I was to save the last files from all my current games in a safe place on my puter, then uninstall & re-install the Matrix games and drop the saved files back into the battle folders in the reinstalled copy would that cause problems, ie could i just carry on with the games after reinstall?

If that should be OK, then maybe 3-3 you could do similar, save files, uninstall/reinstall ... add patch, put saved files back and carry on.

Any Techies out there got any thoughts.
