GREEN LIGHT TOURNEY
[Image: glsplash.png]

German Attack, July 42, 20 turns fixed, clear dry sunny weather.
All the Germans are Crack (except officers are Elite)
All the Russians are Green (officers Regular)

There are 6 small flags down the length of the map, each one defended by a small mixed group of Russians that come on at intervals as reinfs, each group being slightly stronger than the previous one.
The Germans must therefore fight a series of 6 mini-battles as they progress down the map, and the Russians must try to bleed them bit by bit to take the wind out of their sails.
The 6th group is by far the strongest and arrives on turn 11 in the Town (including 8 tanks and a Sturmovik) and has the strength to counterattack to try to recapture some flags.

GERMAN ORDER OF BATTLE
(No reinfs, his whole force starts on the map on Tn1)

12 x PzIVF2
2 x SiG 150mm SPG
1 x 231-8-wheeler (20mm gun)
5 x 251 halftracks
4 x trucks
1 PzGren plat
1 x inf company (3 plats)
1 x pioneer plat
1 x 81mm mortar-halftrack
1 x Sd6/2 37mm flak vehicle
1 x 150mm arty spotter (8 shells)
1 x kubelwagen
5 x MG42 HMG
1 x Stuka D

Below is how they'll appear 'on parade' at the setup screen, there's enough transport for everybody.
For convenience I've arranged them so you can simply embark the passengers on the veh in front of them (or tank-ride), or you can juggle them into whatever other transport arrangements you like.
NOTE- the arty spotter has a radio so he can ride if you want to use him later on down the map with a 2 min spotting delay,(or you can use him on turn 1 with zero delay and zero scatter even if he can't see the designated impact hex), he only has 8 shells but they're 150mm)

RE: GREEN LIGHT TOURNEY
RUSSIAN ORDER OF BATTLE
(no mines of any kind, no wire, no roadblocks, no trenches, no pillboxes or bunkers apart from just the single wooden MG-bunker)

Flag 1, RIVER GROUP
These are the only Russians that start on the map, deploy them wherever you like in their red setup zone, they get foxholes. There are shallow fords.
The ZIS-3 gun can take out German panzers quite easily- if it gets the chance.

1 x Rifle plat
1 x ZIS-3 gun
1 x wooden MG-bunker
[Image: RussID.gif]
---------------------------------------------------------

FLAG 2, CITY GROUP arrives at the flag in the city on Tn 3.
Note- reinfs throughout the whole game arrive at their own flag because the reinf point is at the base of the flagpole.
You can either leave them where they appear, or move them into cover before the German spearhead arrives.
(Don't worry if the program sometimes brings on reinfs facing in all sorts of directions, just re-face them normally)

1 x Pioneer plat
1 x ZIS-2 ATG
1 x Flamethrower
1 x Maxim MG
1 x 37mmAA
[Image: Rus1cit.gif]
-----------------------------------------------------------

FLAG 3, WHEATFIELD GROUP arrives at flag in wheatfield on Tn 5.

1 x Recon plat
1 x ZIS-3 gun
1 x 12.7mm HMG
1 x 82mm mort
1 x 76mm Infantry gun

The 76 IG can't penetrate the panzers frontally but has no problem at all against their side/rear armour.
----------------------------------------------------------

FLAG 4, WOODS GROUP arrives at flag in woods on Tn 7.

1 x SMG plat
1 x 45mm ATG
1 x Ampulomet
1 x 25mm AA
1 x Tankhunt team
1 x Maxim MG

(The 45 ATG and the Ampulomet can't penetrate the panzers frontally and will be looking for easy side/rear shots, or will go after halftracks/trucks)
----------------------------------------------------------------

FLAG 5, HILL GROUP arrives at flag on hill on Tn 9.

1 x Mountain plat
1 x ZIS-2 ATG
1 x 76mm infantry gun
1 x AT-rifle
1 x 50mm mort
1 x Maxim MG
1 x Sniper
[Image: Rus4hil.gif]
----------------------------------------------------------------------

FLAG 6, TOWN GROUP arrives at flag in town on Tn 11.

6 x T-34/76 model 42
2 x KV-2
1 x BA 10 ar car (has 45mm gun)
1 x Guards inf plat
1 x 37mm AA
1 x IL2M Sturmovik

RE: GREEN LIGHT TOURNEY
This is a MIRROR Tourney in the interests of balance, each player will play a 20-turn game against me, then swap sides and we'll play the second game. The two scores will be added together and whoever beats me by the highest margin will get this silver trophy sent to him suitably inscribed with his name. I can't win it myself (sniffle) I'm just the organiser..

-------------------------------------------------------------

And every Blitz player who finishes the tourney will get this cyber-medal pinned to his Blitz stats sheet, plus a 50 pts ladder bonus (100 for the tourney winner).
------------------------------------------------------------

The tourney is very loosely based on the German thrusts deep into southern Russia in summer 42..
(Noob note- when you're Germans, remember to drop off a small garrison at each flag to guard it against possible counterattack by any Russian dribs and drabs that may have been bypassed by your main force)

----------------------------------------------------------

Contact me to sign up and i'll send the scenario file for you to choose your side and set up (or I can set up first if you like), it's open to all clubs and all individuals across the CM community (if they're up for it), and the results will count for the Blitz ladder. (Or they needn't be ladder games at all, your call)
[email protected]
The tourney will end at midnight September 30th to give it a neat 10-week duration from its start today.
The two games have a total of 40 turns, so everybody can aim to play 4 turns per week (4 x 10 = 40) piece o' cake..:) so just sign anytime if you think you can play two 20-turn games before then..:)
Any questions, comments, death threats etc?

Gentlemen, start your engines...

SIGNED UP SO FAR
(i'll keep editing new names into it in order of stepping up)
I've sent the scenario to everybody on this list, so you should all have it in your mailbox by now..:)

RE: GREEN LIGHT TOURNEY
Well, these tourneys just seem to get better and better! And given the nature of this fight, making it a Mirror Tourney is a great idea! It's fair, and it should be fun to play both sides!!
(The winner will have to be someone proficient at attacking AND defending! I bet final results will be very unique. [Another GIANT undertaking by POS!!!])

I guess, it will count as 2 separate battles on the Ladder once it's over?

(AND...as Germans, it will be nicer ''this time'' not having worries like fuel, etc., resupply as the Wehrmacht drives deeper and deeper into Mother Russia! lol)

Hmm...now, which side to try first...!!?? :chin:

Yah mate 2 separate batts for the ladder, but just one set of bonus points and one cyber-medal ha ha ha..
As for fuel, regard it as running out on turn 20, that's when the game ends, ha ha ha again..:)

PS - I gave all the Jerry units extra ammo in the editor because it seemed realistic to stock up with stuff before a big offensive..:)

HITLER- "Can we trust him?"
GENERAL- "Implicitly!"

GENERAL- "Er...on second thoughts Mein Fuhrer, he's as nutty as a fruitcake"
