What are the advantages?

I'm not sure I understand the concept of cross ataching independent units to a company CO........say if I purchase an infantry company and then a platoon of tanks what is gained by cross attaching that platoon of tanks to the infantry company CO? :dunno:

Hi

A squad / unit can be rallied by itself, it's platoon commander, it's company commander and finally by the HQ.
If you attach independent platoons to company commanders, they gain an extra level of rally.
That's really the crux of it IMO.

Be careful not to attach too many ptns to any given commander.

I haven't played for a long time, but for large battles, you might run out of formations (max 100 in SPWAW?). and attaching platoons and sections can be useful here.
