Just a thought.

Since the GLT is heavily balanced against the Russ, it might be interesting to eventually post the best kill ratio for the Reds in each sector, as a final screen shot for each. Sort of the ''dream defense,'' as it were.

Has anyone killed more than 2 German tanks in any sector yet?

Between indirect fire, the Stuka, caught still trying to set up, spot-on German gunnery, etc., I have been pretty much ripped apart as the defender. I think I have only 1 enemy tank kill as we now wait with our backs to the Volga (but at least that town cannot fall)! Eek

Seeking a path of least resistance over Beatguy's heavily-wooded hill, I route my panzers towards the road which offers a clear run through the trees, but their hopes are dashed as they encounter a T-34 sitting squarely in the middle of the highway..

It's a mirror, so any imbalance will er...balance itself out in the rematch, no sweat..:)

23 guys have chosen to play as Russians in the first-half games, and 10 have chosen to be German.
That means you 23 Russian guys are going to find out in the rematch that it's much harder being the Germans than you think, sure the sheer numerical superiority of Jerry will inevitably carry him a long way down the map, but if his movement plotting skills aren't spot on he's going to have huge traffic snarlups (I know) which will slow his advance and give the Russkis precious time to get their reinfs into position and their guns neatly faced to meet him..

It's only a 20-turn game and too many delays will seriously throw a spanner in the German advance timetable, so the German players traffic coordination skills will be tested to the absolute limit..:)

As my panzers fight it out with Andre's 2 guns, (losing 2 tanks in the process), a Sturmovik strike comes in from the left--

My panzers make their big push on the Volga, and a major tank battle erupts on the outskirts of Bootie's town as a total of 10 German and 8 Russian machines clash in what traumatised peasant witnesses will dub 'the battle of the great iron things' but the largely green Russian force is no match for the faster-firing crack panzers and all the Russians are wrecked for the loss of about half the panzers.

Andre wipes out all 5 tanks of my panzer spearhead.
With only 4 turns left I calculated that if I hurled them forward on 'fast' they'd be on the banks of the Volga before the end of the game. Bad call.
Andre launches a surprise attack out of the town and beats them to a pulp; my boys fired back but missed most of the time because firing on 'fast' means you usually can't hit a barn door..
I lose all 5 panzers for the loss of possibly 1 T-34..

Beatguy's Russian armour blocks the road, so rather than make the mistake of trying to blindly charge past it on 'fast' to the Volga (as I tried to do against Andre), this time I mount a precision surgical strike with a complimentary mix of 'fast' and 'hunt' orders.
Result- 4 wrecked Russians for the loss of one panzer..

My tankhunter's grenade bundle describes a graceful arc as it soars towards Feydarkin's panzer with devastating consequences for the vehicle (inset)
However German infantry quickly closes in on him..

Combat Wombat's panzer leader drives straight through the rail crossing chased by a 45mm ATG shot which does no harm..
