German units in Norway OOB

Hello,

I was setting a PBEM game with a Blitz member, Germany vs UK Delay battle, and the date was August 49. After speaking with my opponent, he allowed me to buy German units from Norway OOB.

When I started the battle and wanted to buy some units. There was not a single unit there to buy, save for a Gren platoon.

What is the cause of this?? most of the German units in the Norway OOB there have an availability until 49 but some reasons they don't appear. :conf:

What platform were you playing.
If it was SPww2...that only goes to 1946.

I checked the situation too, it appears you can only get Norwegian oob units until december 1948 but not after that. I don´t know why...

because the Norway oob is full of "specialty" designer units in 1949...such as "walking barrages" "time bombs"etc etc....so most regular units end in 1948, the German ones end in 1945 actually.
there are alot of 'rare' German units stored in the czech oob if you want to use them
I refer to "Steel Panthers Enhanced 2009" of course, so cant say for sure about H2H, but I assume its much the same.

The units that I wanted to get was the Panther G Uhu (If I remember its name correctly). That one had the best range finders and fire control (8,7) of the German tanks. I wanted to use it since the UK have a tank with 12,11...which will be an over kill in a tank fight.

IIRC that unit is in the German OOb in H2H, altho i have not played H2H in some years.
BTW all those high numbers for Rgf and FC go beyond what the code was originally designed for, past oob 'teams' or editors did not fully undertand what the code was desinged for and simply tried to have units do what they felt they should do, so I would not pay that much attention to them....a standard "Panther" should have a FC of 4 and Rgf of 6.

If I recall properly, the Panther Uhu was not 'standard' Big Grin

. It had some device for tracking infrared light from a SdKfz which was emitting it or sth. like that. Maybe that is the reason for greater values of FC and Rgf.

Panther Uhu is in the Norwegian OOB and it has IR Vision of 10 which allows it to see 10 hexes during the night.

Why not go with Panther II? It has better gun and better RF and FC ... and costs more :)

It seems that Norwegian OOB has German equipment only to the end of 48 when it should have to the end of 49, don't know why.
