Hi all,

I thought, that i should ask some questions to enlighten my confusion:

What's ELO and ELO Rating?

[scenario_score = scenario_sm * victory_points * handicap_modifier]
I'm not quite sure, if i understand this... I've read about it in RoE section though.

What are the most/default scenarios/operations played by Blitzers?
Is it possible to have a custom picture on ladder? If not, may i request?

There were more questions in my mind, but i've forgotten...

ELO (not sure of the exact meaning) is a formula designed for chess players to accurately match up players. When you when the system calculates the ability of your opponent and you, and the level of the win. A big win over a tougher opponent will increase your ELO much higher then a big win over a player lower then you.

So that should give one a better idea of his skill level as opposed to the win loss record?

Hello Sami, and welcome to the Club.

Weasel has answered you as far as ELO (which incidentally, doesn't stand for "anything" the system is named after it's inventor, Arpad Elo). If you want a more detailed answer, Wikipedia does a fair job of it. Keep in mind or system is modified to factor in drawn games.

There is no most common operation for Blitzers. For us, playing is the most important thing and any game that two players can agree upon will be allowable for scoring purposes. Each ladder varies as much in what is played as in the type of play. To answer that question better you'd have to ask it on a specific ladder communities forum.

Feel free to ask questions, someone will usually give you an answer before too long. And if you're holding off on accepting games because you feel you're not experienced enough, my advice would be don't hesitate. Your learning curve will improve exponentially against live opponents. Some ladders even have mentors available to help tutor inexperienced players if they ask for it.

Yes. A player with high ELO will lose a lot of points if he loses to a lower ranked player. If he has a high ELO he's usually very good, but beware. It's always a good idea to check a players profile and see who he plays and how often he plays them. There have been sharks reported in these waters.

New question... How do i know that a scenario/operation is team-able? :conf:
If it is team-able, then can your mate choose same nationality?

That's a difficult question to answer Sami. I believe if you're willing to work it out, any scenario can be played as teams if players who are interested can be found. Beyond that, if there are technical limitations to a game that would not make it work, you'd need to ask that specific question on the ladder that pertains to that game. There subject matter experts can give you more detailed answers.

Well, i was wondering if 2 players vs computer could had been possible?

Ah, well, sorry no. We will permit anything that two players can agree upon to be scored on the ladders, but we do not permit games played against an AI to be scored.
