As you can see from this table it seems that titles like Kursk,Bulge and Stalingrad have moved up the ranking from the order they were released, while Normandy, Tobruk and Salerno have not been played as many times, I was surprised by Normandy being so low?

I am not sure that you can equate popularity with the number of reported games; the oldest game, S41, leads the list. You probably need to incorporate a factor to account for days on the market, and another factor to account for the number of other competeing titles on the market. Such that, when S41 was released there was no other competion, but when M'44 was released, there were many other PzC titles out there. So time on market and # competeing titles needs to be considered. Of course, the more precise way would be to simply organize a poll.

You probably need to incorporate a factor to account for days on the market, and another factor to account for the number of other competeing titles on the market. Such that, when S41 was released there was no other competion, but when M'44 was released, there were many other PzC titles out there. So time on market and # competeing titles needs to be considered. Of course, the more precise way would be to simply organize a poll.

I agree Marquo, this was not a very scientific way of presenting the stats, just a bit of fun really. ;)

A poll would only be valid if a large number of players voted, if the numbers were low the results could be skewed badly.

Ooops missed that off, it was the fifth MC title released and is in fifth place with 47 games registered. :)

Its by a long chalk the most popular MC game going ...there are a further 389 games in progress as we speak, its just that they will take 5 years each to finish ;)

I was looking at the archives of HPS but couldn't find when was released Smolensk... (1999 but what month?) when we get all the dates it will be easier to find out which game is the most popular.
For the number of games already out, how do you think you can factor that?

You could also go buy which titles people actually bought, assuming that they play them.
