RE: Russians ONLY "Little Saturn" No Germas Pls
The Centre battle has now been given to the German side. Am working on the final Northern battle right now. Just a note, If either side wants to disengage before the battle is over that is fine. They just have to state their intent to do so to the other player, mark the turn number, and 5 turns later both sides hit the ceasefire button.

The final Northern battle is now in German hands. The setup with this map was a little tougher then the other two. Be careful in your setup. LOS could leave you in sight of the enemy from the start. Happy hunting.

Remember, could all players PM me with their passwords, Thanks guys.

Just an update for the Centre task force. I used the wrong move for the terrain so the 81mm mortras will not make it for this battle, they will be there for the next battle. Also, I noticed that there was no indication of where the DP MGs would be placed so I placed them in the North task force battle.

Sorry for the error.

I didn't think they'd arrive until the next day anyway. Maybe I'm confused on how the reinforcements work - they are to arrive the same day (either dawn, mid-day, dusk or night) they are ordered?

RE: Russians ONLY "Little Saturn" No Germas Pls
Just a copy of the answer the other taem asked, I am repeating the answer here:

"No the battle will either time out or one side or the other will disengage or surrender. I have placed flags around the map is show the main points that will have to be taken in order to gain control of an area. So at the end of the battle I will look at what has happened, and draw the front lines between flags ect. This way I will be able to see who is in supply, and how much that I will have to shift the map for the next battle when it takes place. As for control of the Town, it will be determined by the total points value of all the flags in the town that each side holds. The side holding 75% or more of the total points in flags will control the town. Same for the airstrip. Now as you can see some areas are worth more flags then are others so it will be up to each side to decide what flags they deem to be worth going for.
Hope this helps, I will be giving a total flag count for the town and airstrip in the next few days. I just want both sides to not get too hung up on tech stuff at the moment, and work on their own objectives as they see fit. Hope this helps a little."

Hi Ratzki;

I'm still waiting for my first turn, but in the meantime a quick question about the set-up zones on the maps. Each has red and blue zones, which I assumed to be the Soviet and German zones respectively. However, they are so close together on the south and north maps, I was beginning to wonder if they are 2 different Soviet zones, corresponding to the respective "prongs". Can you clarify when you have a chance? I'm sure it'll become apparent once I get the first file from my German opponent...

It will become clear once the file gets to you. You must remember, that we are all kinda going on what we think is being ordered and done. My idea of a three pronged attack and yours will be entirely different. Kind of a built in fudge factor, I go with what I am told and hope that it is what was ordered, I am sure people will get that they have to be more exact in order for me to be more accurate with carrying out the orders as they are intended. As for how close units are, I have went with some figures from the US War Dept that a platoon has an attack frontage of about 200m and a company about 500-800m. So each of the Russian Task Forces are about two companies in size, so I just said 2x800m and came up with 1600m. That is the width(give or take) of the three maps. I think that any less density would require a split of the Task Forces some more, which you guys can do if you want, but for me 1600+/-m seems about right. Again, it is my read on your guys orders. Pretty abstract, but it is the best that I can do. If all goes well, and I do another game in this format, I am looking over some things that go well, and things that do not, and will adjust things for the better. I think that if you want to be more exact then I will need some more zoomed in screen shots and orders that are more specific, so that I get the exact picture that you all want.
Sorry about the novel I just wrote, just trying to explain the situation, and am still learning myself.

No need to apologize. I appreciate the info. I guess it will become more clear once we start playing. Hopefully I get my turn tomorrow early - unusually I'm working from home, and just love to get paid to play CM!
