Security problems
Hi there,

In my game against Mikekiller (SPMBT) there is a problem with loading the files that says something about changing paths to the game. This is weird since we both are running other games on the same installation without problems. Doesn't work to go back and load an old file either - same message appears.

I'm curious to know from any of you experts out there why this is happening and if it's possible to fix in some way to continue the game?

RE: Security problems
Hi
You get that message for a few different things.
I assume you are using Full security?
That's important to know.

It will say this if you forgot to actually load the new (from your opponent) game file.
Also, it will say this if you are trying to play the game on a physically different computer.

Maybe the files are corrupt?

You ca try asking this question at the Shrapnel MBT forums as well.

Good luck.

RE: Security problems
Thanks Jason. Yep, full security it is!
I'll double-check with Miguel that the correct files are loaded but we tried so many times so I'm afraid that the files have to be corrupt. I'm using the same old computer and I think he is too.

RE: Security problems
Is either one of you using the same PBEM save slot for more than one game? That can cause a malfunction too.

RE: Security problems
Try re-zipping the files.

Sometimes the compression process corrupts the files.

Narwan

I'm not playing more than one game per slot. However, sometimes I receive wrong files from an opponent, and if these get unzipped and overwrite the files that may have caused the problem. Have to be more careful with that I suppose.

Cross: Re-zipping and sending again didn't work.. not going back to older files from the same game either. I can open them and play them just fine, but my opponents computer refuses to open them.

Thanks for all the comments.
