More engineer and OOB questions
For the soviets, are "construction engineers" the engineers that can remove wrecks? If not, please let me know which ones can do that.

Also, I added some Army HQ units (platoons) to a scenario to represent the Army Group HQ that was present in the battle area. I used three Army HQ units since there is no "army group" level formations in the OOB. For some reason the OOB function will not let me make the other friendly units in the scenario subordinate to them. I was unable to get the OOB to let me insert them at the top of the friendly "chain of command" and was also unable to insert a commander under their control. Anyone run into this?

Thanks,

LR

RE: More engineer and OOB questions
Larry,
Each Army can only have one HQ thus it won't let you add another HQof the same level..........only solution I can think of is try adding corps HQs.

Too place a leader(s) in command easiest way is to put them directly above the HQ unit or in the top level of regiment ,battalion, corps, division etc...........I usually place them above the HQ......for company level just insert them into the top slot of the coy.

Presently in the Russian/Soviet OOB's, only the Maintenance Unit will remove wrecks.

Construction Engineers are capable of building trenches, but not removing wrecks.

For those so inclined, if you are building a Campaign OOB, it is necessary to put any leaders you include UNDER the HQ of the relevent battalion, regiment, brigade, division, corps or army. For some reason, it doesn't work properly if the leader is on top.

RE: More engineer and OOB questions
More questions.... Looked through Soviet OOB for Maintenance units. Only found the "Maintenance Unit" trucks that can carry passengers. Is this the unit that can remove the wrecks? Is there an engineer that is supposed to go along with them? If they are stand alone, should they still be allowed to carry other passengers? Also, is wreck clearage like removing mines, automatic?

Thanks,

Presently, yes.

No.

Yes, a couple/few wrecks will be removed per turn.
